In this Era of Revival guide for Last Asylum, we’ll discuss the best skills to unlock when choosing the Handyman Speciality. We’ll compare the available skills at each level milestone and explain which options provide the greatest benefits for resource management, research progression, PvP, and alliance support, helping you make the most of your skill points.
Handyman Skill Path
Let’s take a look at the best pathway for unlocking skills in the Handyman speciality.
Below, you can refer to the images to see which skills I recommend unlocking at each level milestone, along with a detailed explanation of why each choice is worth prioritizing.

Let’s break down why this Handyman speciality skill tree is the best choice for you. We’ll go through each level milestone, compare the available skills, and explain why one option is better than the other.
Level 1: Instant Produce vs. Alliance Contribution
Recommended Skill: Instant Produce
Instant Produce is the better choice, especially as you progress into the late game. At higher levels, both building upgrades and technology research require enormous amounts of resources, particularly herbs.
Instant Produce allows you to instantly collect up to 24 hours of production from your resource buildings, making it extremely useful for maintaining a steady supply of resources and speeding up your overall progression.
Alliance Contribution is also a decent skill because it helps you earn more Alliance Coins. However, these coins can already be obtained in abundance by consistently participating in Alliance activities.
When comparing the long-term benefits of both skills, Instant Produce offers greater overall value by helping you manage the resource demands of the late game.
Level 5: Vitality and Vigor vs. Siege Frenzy
Recommended Skill: Siege Frenzy
Vitality and Vigor increases your free stamina reward by 50%, which can be useful for players who regularly hunt monsters and participate in activities that consume stamina.
However, Siege Frenzy increases the durability damage dealt by your soldiers, making it a valuable skill for PvP combat.
If your goal is to contribute more effectively during alliance battles and PvP encounters, Siege Frenzy is the better option. Its combat benefits can help your alliance deal more damage to enemy structures and improve your overall contribution during warfare.
For players who prioritize PvP, Siege Frenzy provides the greater strategic advantage.
Level 10: Free Build vs. Free Research
Recommended Skill: Free Research
Both skills offer free time reductions, but they apply to different activities. Free Build helps reduce building construction time, while Free Research reduces technology research time.
As you approach the late game, research becomes increasingly important. Unlocking T10 troops requires substantial investment in technology research, making research speed a major priority, particularly for free-to-play (F2P) players.
Building upgrades remain important, but investing in research can provide more significant long-term benefits for your military progression.
For this reason, Free Research is the better choice if your goal is to unlock T10 troops as efficiently as possible.
Level 15: Instant Build vs. Instant Research
Recommended Skill: Instant Research
Both of these are active skills that you can use once per day. Instant Build helps you make immediate progress on construction, while Instant Research allows you to accelerate technology research.
As discussed earlier, research is generally a higher priority than construction during the late game, especially when working toward T10 troops.
Instant Research therefore offers greater value for players who want to progress through the technology tree faster and reach important military milestones sooner.
For an efficient late-game progression strategy, Instant Research is the recommended option.
Level 20: Swift Stride vs. Siege War Flag
Recommended Skill: Siege War Flag
Both skills are active abilities, but they serve different purposes.
Swift Stride increases your squads’ rally and return speed by 10%, helping you move troops more quickly across the map.
Siege War Flag allows you to deploy a War Flag in an empty area on the World Map. Allies positioned within the flag’s area gain increased durability damage, making it especially useful during coordinated PvP operations.
For F2P players, Siege War Flag can be particularly valuable. Rather than relying entirely on your own attacking power, you can support stronger alliance members and help them deal additional damage during battles.
This makes Siege War Flag an excellent way to contribute to your alliance’s success, even if your account is not strong enough to lead major attacks.
Choose Siege War Flag if you want to maximize your support role in alliance PvP.
Level 25: Combat EXP vs. Alliance Aid
Recommended Skill: Combat EXP
Combat EXP provides additional Speciality EXP when killing Era Monsters, helping you level up your Handyman speciality faster and unlock more skills sooner.
Alliance Aid, on the other hand, reduces soldier casualty rates for alliance members you reinforce during combat. This can be useful when supporting allies in difficult battles.
However, unlocking additional speciality skills early can provide broader long-term benefits. More Speciality EXP means faster progression through the skill tree and earlier access to other useful abilities.
My recommendation is to choose Combat EXP first and focus on levelling up your speciality.
Once you have unlocked the skills you need, you can use a Skill Reset Book to recover your skill points and redistribute them into Alliance Aid if your alliance would benefit more from reinforcement support.
This approach allows you to prioritize progression first and adjust your build later.
Level 30: Help Building vs. Help Research
Recommended Skill: Help Research
Both skills improve the speed of your alliance members’ activities, with Help Building benefiting construction and Help Research benefiting technology research.
While building speed is useful, research becomes increasingly important as you progress toward the late game. Technology upgrades are essential for unlocking stronger troops and improving your military capabilities.
By choosing Help Research, you can support your alliance’s technological progression while following your own long-term goal of unlocking T10 troops.
Help Research is the stronger choice for players who prioritize research and military progression.
Level 35: Art of Architecture vs. Material Recycle
Recommended Skill: Material Recycle
Art of Architecture reduces the resources required for building construction, while Material Recycle reduces the resources required for technology research.
Both skills can help ease resource pressure, but Material Recycle is particularly valuable for late-game players.
Unlocking T10 troops requires significant research investment, and the associated resource costs can become a major obstacle to progression. Reducing those costs can help you complete more research without exhausting your resource reserves as quickly.
For F2P players, efficient resource management is especially important because resources are harder to accumulate without spending money.
Material Recycle is the recommended choice for players working toward T10 troops.
Level 40: Healing Force vs. Bond Shield
Recommended Skill: Bond Shield
Healing Force increases your infirmary capacity and can benefit both you and your alliance members. This can be helpful during prolonged battles when casualties put pressure on your infirmary.
Bond Shield, however, allows you to provide a shield to yourself or an alliance member for a limited number of hours.
This can be especially useful when protecting a valuable account, helping a vulnerable alliance member, or preparing for situations where incoming attacks are expected.
For alliance-focused players, Bond Shield offers a more flexible defensive option because you can use it to protect either yourself or someone who needs assistance.
Bond Shield is my preferred choice for its defensive utility and ability to support alliance members.
