Raven Epigraph Mechanic Guide

Raven Epigraph is a relatively new Raven mechanic that works similarly to the Skill system, but specifically for your Raven. Epigraphs provide various buffs to your squad in both PvP and PvE.

There are 4 types of Epigraphs that you can equip on your Raven:

1. Initiative Type

Initiative Epigraphs activate at the start of battle and provide a specific buff for a certain duration or under certain conditions.

Example:

Guard of Nature III — Warrior Epigraph

At Level 1, it provides:

1% Damage Reduction to all Warrior faction heroes while their HP remains above 50% during battle.

These Epigraphs are useful for providing immediate defensive or utility benefits at the beginning of combat.

2. Attack Type

Attack Epigraphs increase the damage output of your squad.

Example:

Frenzied Flock III — Warrior Epigraph

At Level 1, it provides:

1% increased damage for your heroes for 3 seconds after the Raven casts a Skill.

These Epigraphs are particularly useful for squads that rely on burst damage or benefit from short damage-boosting windows.

3. Support Type

Support Epigraphs provide various utility and offensive buffs to your heroes.

Example:

Reversal Power III — Warrior Epigraph

At Level 1, it provides:

2% increased damage to the hero with the highest ATK for 3 seconds after the Raven casts a Skill.

These can be especially useful when your squad has a strong main carry or high-ATK hero that you want to boost.

4. Defense Type

Defense Epigraphs improve your heroes’ survivability by increasing their defensive capabilities.

Example:

Protective Charm III — Warrior Epigraph

At Level 1, it provides:

2.5% DEF increase to all Warrior heroes until the battle ends.

These are particularly valuable for squads that benefit from increased durability and longer survivability.

Epigraph Workshop

The Epigraph Workshop works similarly to the Gear Workshop. It allows you to craft Epigraphs using Epigraph Shards.

You can craft both:

  • SSR Epigraphs
  • UR Epigraphs

The Epigraph Workshop is an important building, so you should prioritize upgrading it to Level 20 as early as possible.

Reaching Level 20 unlocks the ability to craft UR-quality Epigraphs, which provide the strongest buffs.

Important Things to Keep in Mind

1. Focus on Epigraphs that actually benefit your squad

Don’t waste resources unlocking Epigraphs that don’t correspond to your squad’s faction.

For example, if your main squad consists of Warrior heroes, unlocking Ranger or Warlock Epigraphs and equipping them on your Raven will be futile because those Epigraphs do not benefit your Warrior heroes.

Always prioritize Epigraphs that match the faction of the heroes you actually use.

2. Unwanted Epigraphs can still be useful

Don’t worry too much about getting Epigraphs that aren’t useful for your current squad.

Unused Epigraphs can also be used as materials for Raven Evolution.

So, unwanted Epigraphs aren’t necessarily completely wasted.

3. Different squads require different Epigraph setups

There isn’t necessarily one universal “best” Epigraph setup.

Different squads can benefit from different Epigraph combinations.

For example:

  • Main Squad: Equip your strongest and most relevant Epigraphs.
  • Second Squad: Use your next-best Epigraphs.
  • Other Squads: Use weaker or leftover Epigraphs.

Always make sure your best Epigraphs are assigned to your primary squad, especially when competing in PvP.

Quick Summary

Epigraph TypeMain Purpose
InitiativeBuffs activated at the start of battle
AttackIncreases squad damage
SupportProvides offensive/utility support
DefenseImproves survivability

Recommended Priority

  1. Upgrade Epigraph Workshop to Level 20.
  2. Focus on Epigraphs matching your main squad’s faction.
  3. Prioritize UR Epigraphs.
  4. Put your strongest Epigraphs on your main squad.
  5. Use unwanted Epigraphs for Raven Evolution when appropriate.

Bottom line: Don’t try to collect everything. Build your Epigraph collection around the faction and composition of your strongest squads, then gradually expand into other factions as your account develops.
